Getting things under control

We are now into our third weekend at the new house & I believe that this will be the turning point in the battle to get everything looking good. Over the course of this week I was able to clean our old appartment and turn in our keys, so now I can focus my full attention on the house.

Last week we did a lot of work outside. Lesli was nice enough to come down and help us get control of the back yard & help Becky put some bulbs in the planter along the garage wall. While they were doing that, I raked the front lawn & got up most of the dead grass, clippings & junk that had been building up. After being fertalized & watered the lawn has really recovered from the summer drought that it had endoured.

On the inside, we mounted the TV & started doing some cable runs for all the devices & the surround sound speakers. It will take some time, but it will look great when it is all done. We should look into getting some TV service as well….

Packing Packing Packing

Been busy between putting some extra hours at work and packing when I get home. We have done really well so far I think – we ong haave a few empty boxes left for food and cooking stuff that we will pack Friday night. Still some stuff left over as always, but after we get everything out and partially unpacked at the new house we can take the empty boxes back over and finish it off during the week. Getting kinda burned out though – hope I will have the energy to load on Saturday……

At home at last

The flight home was pretty good. Full load, late taking off by about 30 minutes and a little bumpy but I made it. Time for bed.

It’s all about the goodness

You just can’t go wrong with Boston Market. This time I got a Country Chicken Sandwich and besides the BBQ sandwiches in midtown Sacramento it was the best sandwich I’ve had in a while. They use a honey mustard that is just perfect.

Job is going well so far. Going to be hitting the road soon for the other offices….

Lunch at Panera Bread

Having a chicken salad sandwich at the Panera Bread in Fort Collins Colorado.

The flight in was good with some great views of the mountains as the sun came up. So far so good on the project – the server seems happy enough at least so we should be in good shape there.

A Family Gathering – Day 2

Everyone has made it home safe and sound in the valley – home to the 100 degree plus heat. Lesli is lucky because she gets to relax in the relative cool while the rest of us came home to temperatures that are the hottest yet this year.

At any rate, everyone involved had a great time this weekend & I hope that we will be able to do similar events in the future.

I have uploaded all of the photos that I took this weekend to the Gallery, so feel free to peruse and check it out.

A Family Gathering – Day 1

It’s been hard with schedules & such to get both my family & Lesli together, but were were able to do it. James was nice enough to take care of the animals, enabling my family to have a weekend to go up to Janesville & visit Lesli while Rebecca & I were up there. Last night we had a game of croquet – a game that started out with Dad in the lead & Rebecca in last place & ending up with Rebecca winning. Not a bad way to turn the tables….

Today we took a day trip up to Antelope Lake which is about a 40 minute drive from Lesli’s home. It started out with a cool morning, but by the time we got up there the temperature was absolutely perfect. After a while the water warmed up as well & I took one of the floating loungers out onto the water and floated around for a little bit. Rebecca also took a turn floating, but the mid afternoon wind picked up & we decided to head back. On the way back, we took a side trip around the other side of the lake to see the campgrounds – the hope is that we might do another group camp up here some time in September. Also on the way back we stopped out & took a look at a vista overlooking the valley that Lesli’s home is in. It was a little bit of a hike, but it was worth it because of the view.

Pictures of everything will be posted to the Gallery by mid next week.
